Occupational Therapy Driving Assessment

Consist of an Off Road assessment of approximately 90 minutes, On Road of 60 minutes accompanied by a driving instructor in the client's car, report for the GP, NZTA or other referring party.

A screening assessment is available if you are unsure if you want to proceed with the full assessment.

Enable funding for vehicle and/or vehicle modifications

Eligibility Criteria

A person with a permanent disability

Working or studying at tertiary level or fulltime at maximum capacity

Be the main carer of a child under 13

A child under the age of 16

Lottery Grants for vehicles require input from an Occupational Therapsit to ensure that the vehcile and modifications meet the Grant Recipients needs.  

Children under the age of 16 might be eligible for Enable funding to compliment the Lottery Funding

Whakaora means to restore to health and ngangahau is an adjective meaning – active, spirited, zealous. Conveying the idea of reawakening, or restoring to health one’s activeness, spiritedness and zeal

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist from the University Of Pretoria in 1993.  After working in a variety of settings in South Africa, I immigrated to New Zealand ,with my family, in 2007.  I have been working in driving and vehicle modifications since 2012. I hold a Certificate as Driver Assessment and Training Occupational Therapist from the University of Sydney and am credentialed in following areas of Enable accreditation:
